Congratulations!  4 weeks, then the other eye?

Thanks

Nah, risk taker by nature, living by the motto "moderation sucks".... Did both eyes at once.  No pain today, no real discomfort.  Distance vision past 5ft all the way out is better than glasses already. I can see well enough to type on an iPad but my iphone texts are still too blurry to see.  While it feels like a miracle, I can see this could be an issue for tying light lines and flies. But I knew I'd probably need reading glasses afterwards.  It's supposedly going to take up to a month for my vision to settle in since I had such bad eyes.  But two thumbs up so far less than 24 hours into it.

Really good news.  You'll be spotting surface action at 200 yards at this rate.

I know that my eyes have actually gotten better on their own over the last decade.  20/20 in my left eye, 20/15 in the right, uncorrected.  10 or so years ago they were 20/40 and 20/30.

Soooooo......... THAT'S where the fountain of youth is located!  Finally, we have found it!  I always liked Sedro-Wooley.... just didn't know why.

Seriously though, Sumpnz, how on earth did your eyes get BETTER over the years???  Inquiring minds wanna know.   :o

I asked my doctor if Lasik was right for me. After suffering a detached Vitreous and Retinal tear I had a surgery to fix that. Was told I would develop a cataract within months after that operation and i did. Had that surgery over a year ago. My sight in the rt eye still sucks big time because I still have Macular Edema(swollen retina).Eye drops and shots directly into the eye have not helped at all. I now wear a Daily contact on that eye only under my glasses and that makes it a tad better. Doc told me side effects of Lasik may include impotence, anal leakage, headaches, Torette Syndrome(swear enough when fishing)(joking about side effects). I'm just stuck and have to live with it. Anytime you look at any surgery, it has it's risks. Look at your condition, weigh the risks and benefits and make your decision based on that. This is coming from an old Surgical Technician who can't see. Can your Tech see?

Lol.  I did flinch when my eye surgeon took out a pair of reading glasses.

Had the surgery done on Thursday.  My biggest concern is my distance vision is great!  Concerned only because I know it changes as it heals.  My near vision sucks.  Need reading glasses.  But its supposed to improve over time.  Still I see well enough close in that I should be able to tie knots and such with normal gear.

So far it's good.  Impotence?  Hmmm.....well if it becomes a problem I'll definitely post it but if ya don't hear anything, just assume it wasn't an issue!  Haha.  Besides my girlfriend is my yak and she loves me as long as I get her out and bloody every now and then...hmm...that doesn't seem too PC does it?  But it's true!

I have no idea.  My mom had the same thing happen.  Neither of us have had any medical procedure done and neither of wear glasses anymore.  I didn't wear mine a lot when I had them, though my mom did.

I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts.  Figure it'll change for the worse eventually.  Kinda like that first gray hair I recently found in my mustache.
