I'm sore, sunburned, and tired.  In otherwords, I had a GREAT time today at Lake Samish with The Murf.  Only caught one little 9-10" rainbow trout between us, but it was still a lot of fun.

It was suh a beautiful day.  Just cool enough in the morning to be very pleasant.  Warmed up nicely by the afternoon.  Saw a lot of surface action, and The Murf said he marked a lot of fish anywhere from 20-60' down, but just couldn't get any of the to bite, either on my stuff on the top, or his down deeper.

The one little rainbow that I caught, I don't even know when I hooked it.  For all I know I could have been towing it around for half a mile.  I saw just a little extra bend in my fly rod and thought I might have snagged some salad.  Started reeling in and could tell something was there.  Then got a head shake.  FISH-ON!  It was such a little one that I was going to throw it back, but the hook had exited through its eye, so I figured I better bonk it.  Cut the gills and officially got my first fish blood on the kayak!

Looking forward to fishing with The Murf again.  Have to wait for him to post here for a pic.  I don't have any cameras that are waterproof enough to risk taking out, so he took the only fish porn pics.

I have got to remember to hold my fish out away from my body so they look bigger.
