Surf, swell, and wind forcast are looking real good for this coming weekend.Got a little breezy on the coast today so I'm going out this weekend for sure.CHM says there is a surfing gig going on in Westhaven this weekend but they will be on the south side of the jetty---the best fishing is on the other side (north side).
I'll be out there bright and early finding that big ling.....anyone else ?
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

I was looking at the forecast as well, looks much better than the previous weekend.

Bright and early definitely is the way to go! I'll likely head out on saturday, will confirm later in the week

I am going to try to be out there both days.  I am considering a camping spot in Twin Harbors for the weekend.  The swell and wind forcasts make it look to be beautiful!!!

Sunday is looking to be awesome with swell dying to a measly 2' from the SW and light southerly flow. That translates to horribly weak surfing conditions, but excellent for yak-angling!
I will be out there to fish the incoming through the high. Moon will be overhead at the high.

Saturday still looks like maybe light/moderate NW winds, but the swell will be dropping.

The surf contest starts on Friday with bigger surf, and the finals will be on Sunday, in the 2' slop.
I suggest getting there early Sunday morning to find decent parking. This thing usually draws a massive crowd. Perhaps the eliminated contestants and their families will have already gone home after Sats events, thinning it a bit.

We launch from the beach in the SW corner of Half Moon Bay, in a protected nook near the base of the South Jetty. Parking is at Westhaven State Park (carry yak over berm on N side of parking lot & go straight down to the beach to the water), but the parking area will be booked.
Due to the surf contest crowd, I may not be able to find a place where I'd normally like to park.
Another spot is the berm underneath the Coast Guard observation tower on Half Moon Bay. Be prepared to portage your yak a ways. I use a Wheeleez cart.

Met up with Mark Collett & Olyspec this morning.  Thanks to them for showing me the ropes!  It was raining the entire time and a little chilly - glad I had the drysuit and long johns on..but I managed to get my first two legal saltwater fish from a kayak!  woo-hoo!
