This idea came from my buddy Ralph. It is as yet untested in actual water..The Battery is in the box, it fits snug into the cup holder and the screen swivels. No holes need be drilled, I'm trying to do most stuff sans drilled holes in the yak. After a first test and if i can find the motivation, i will do an article on it.

See ya on the water..

That is one wild looking fish finder setup.  Can't wait to see the whole story, and how it works on the water!
There is a thin line between hobby and insanity.

Looks like a homemade version of my Fishin' BuddyII http://www.bottomlinefishfinders.com/site/html/htmlsite/bl/1200.htm  ;D I would bet that a smaller plastic conduit would help reduce weight (if that's an issue, for you).

I use it in my rowboat- the downside of it is that the transducer hanging down in the water does create some drag. Not a big deal, really, just pull it out of the clamp and drop it in the bottom of the boat, when I want to go somewhere.

The slickest FF mounts I've seen have involved holes only for the base of the FF. I've also seen some creative ghetto bars that sport FFs and rodholders, and reduced the needs for holes. IMO, not as clean as a direct mount. Check out NCKA, for ideas.

I'm gonna just take it out and put it in the well behind me when i wanna make time.

I would have probably used smaller pipe, but i had this stuff already laying around the shop.
