You've gotta go with the panther Martin -- either blue/silver holographic or the pink holographic in 3/8 ounce size.  Best 2 all around trout lures I've ever used.  Sunny use blue, and cloudy or murky water use pink.
+1!

I rarely trout fish without having, dare I say, worms. Good back up in all conditions with small amounts of weight and slow going. My largest trout was with 1/4 oz, 14" to one of those little rubber floaty thingies at the hook with a juicy fat 1/2ed earthworm at about 1 mph.  Cloudy and cool, ~2' depth of sight. Many more on similar but yeah, boring.

Oh yeah I forgot, grasshoppers are awesome bait too. I wish we had them up here

I like the yozuri pin minnows but day in and out, the most effective thing I've had for trout in almost any lake is a walleye spinner rig with a big fat night crawler. Works in Alaska and I don't see too many night crawlers around.

If you need to catch fish and don't care about the fight, a 000 dodger or cowbells like rimfirematt says up the odds immensely.

I ran into an older fellow last time i was out and when he saw my tarpon it struck up our conversation but he was using small green spinner trolling really slow, and also a fly with some split shot just to get it below the surface with 10ft leader and a clear bobber. Well from what i could see he was the only one catching stuff that day.
