Okay so I can do some fishing Saturday  but I have to be home around 8pm or so. I think a dolly run to Seward sounds more reasonable and doable for a day trip

I lied. I just remembered I got a little job to do. I rarely book work on Saturdays but it's been so slow I made an exception. Job should only last till noon. So I'll have time to go to a valley lake or maybe just go to sheep creek. I was thinking maybe echo lake. Course I bet some anchorage lakes are open too.

Yah...if I lived down there I would try it.  I bet it's ok this morning. Winds appear calm in the area right now. Tidal swings, snow, and rain is ok.  It's the high slack is at like 430pm meaning that's when you start drifting back and so you are committed to fish till about 6 or 7pm and the forecast is not only for stronger winds in the evening but more north instead of NE. Don't want to get caught up in that.

If something happened on a day where there is a small craft advisory on the water...I'd feel pretty stupid...if I lived.  So better safe than sorry.

Maybe I'll try Seward if the weather holds later this afternoon or tomorrow.  Still at 75% with this cold/flu.  Time to go back to sleep and decide again after I wake up.

Argh.......

It's Whittier for me today -- just don't feel like doing too much driving. Valley lakes, assuming ice out, is a very good alternative. I'll check the freshwater reports on the latter. Love the rainbow fishing when the lakes first turn... Meanwhile, feel better Kardinal -- rest is good.

No luck to report... yet.  The Valley lakes are calling, though. Think I'll get out at least once this week just to stoke the fires.

Lakes should be great once they open up.  Stay closet shore and shallow.  Warms up faster. If you can find flowing water, you are golden.

I'm going stir crazy!!  If the weather is good, I may take a day off this week.  This is prime time for shallow water butts and kings!!M
