Bass on the Willamette

I've always wanted to learn to bass fish but never knew anyone who knew what they were doing. I've heard we have some great bass fishing in the PDX/Vancouver area specifically on the Willamette.  Is anyone planning on doing any bass in the weeks/months to come that wouldn't mind sharing some techniques?
Maybe I'm jumping the gun but does anyone in the area put on a bass seminar?

I went for a quick paddle on the Tualatin today so my friend could test out the cedar strip kayak we built.  The bass were jumping.  The Tualatin seems a bit warmer than the Willamette.  I did not have a rod with so I don't know if they are biting.

 How's that beautiful cedar-strip kayak do on the water?  That is a pretty boat.

I had a hard time keeping up with it in my Outback pedaling.  It tracks like a dream.  I was pedaling at my normal relaxed cruising pace upstream and my buddy was paddling at a relaxed cruising pace and every once in awhile I had to give a few quick kicks to catch back up.
