I use a Stearns flotation cushion. Doubles as a rescue aid, elevates me two inches to keep me drier.

Insayn, squidgirl and several others use a cushion made by skwoosh or one of their competitors. adds a lot more "Cush" to the cushion part of your yaks seat.

http://skwoosh.com/

or you can do a major upgrade on the seat by going here and picking up one of their aftermarket seats. http://www.surftosummit.com/gts-kayak-seats-c-299.html?osCsid=ncha8jldq7apgnbrrh26nrq0u2

many of us here have lower lumbar or tailbone issues. these help loads.

I have recommended this numerous times on various threads, but here it goes again.   I love this thing

I broke my tailbone many years ago.  It hurts to sit in any kind of chair for very long.  I bought this and I am able to stay in the yak all day with no issues.  I love it so much I bought another for taking on planes when I travel for work.  I figured the fish blood and slime on the original may make me enemies on the plane.

Great replies all around.  It is "good" to know I'm not alone.  Craig - where did you pick yours up at?

I actually use a coleman inflatable pillow to sit on.  It's usually sold right there next to the air matresses.  Super compact if you want to deflate it.

Craig, How thick is the Seal Line cushion?  Cascade Designs does not list the specs on their website.  What does "self-inflating" mean?   Thanks.

Not sure on the thickness, but self inflating is pretty much what it sounds like. There's foam inside of the cushion that expands drawing air in when you open the inflation valve. To deflate simply apply pressure, open the valve, then close the valve once deflated.
