Half the point value is for having the ability to photo & measure them live while on your yak. Not a trivial task.

Since I fish 99% of the time alone I find it difficult to photograph my fish myself.  AOTY instructions or convention do indicate that photos of the fish should be taken on the kayak.  I've taken to putting the fish across my feet as a record of kayak catch, then measuring them on land.  Both photos are then posted.

That seems like a smart solution, unless you're doing CPR. For kayak wars the fish have to be alive and on the yak which really is a challenge. I need to catch a lot more fish so I can practice ;-)
