Depoe Bay this week-end

Thanks Noah and all else who were there.  Had to wait for the 20 ft. Coast Guard restriction to be lifted but had a blast.  Nice job slaying the fish Joe.  Also good to see you finally made it Ling Banger, how did you do after we pulled out?

Wind and whitecaps aren't my bag. I lost too much gear for not enough fish. I saw your safety flag on the bank, but couldn't muster the courage to snatch it. I kept 2 lings and 4 black rockfish. I let a 20" cab go, thinking I'd find a fatter one, but never did. Nice seeing you out there J-Dawg and props to Langcod on his 26" Cab.

Not my flag on the bank, I knocked mine off out by the bell buoy.  Had just hooked up a fish with my line drifted way behind me and was trying to swing the rod around the back of the yak to get on the other side and knocked it off then.  I had a blast out there even with the bad conditions.  Only managed to catch one ling keeper but did lose a couple of brutal tug of wars though.  Soon as my work season is over I will be out there on a more regular basis....

It was great fishing with you guys. Here are a couple of photos of the day. The bite was pretty slow most of the day, but J-Fen managed a couple of really nice Lings plus a good sized cabbie. Paul also got a nice Cab and some blacks. I moved around a good bit but couldn't seem to find a solid ling bite. I got one keeper and a couple of underlings. I kept 4 blacks on the day and the one ling. Always fun to fish in the salt but I wouldn't nice flat day sooner or later.

Have you seen the forecast for next week ?  By mid week it will be Lake Pacific (Tue 2 feet at 16 seconds).  Why?  Because I have to go to Virginia for work for the week. 

I hope someone calls in sick/takes a day off, gets out there, and posts some fishy porn online for me.  Oh, and FWIW, since I will be gone for the week the salmon bite should be hot.  Get out there and get some.
