Westport Swell Question

So... I am hoping to go to westport this thursday... weather has looked ok to me, until today.  It is calling for 10ft swell, 8 seconds apart... Okay, I do know enough to understand that isn't really what I want, but... the swell is coming from the south... does this mean that the jetty effectively "cancels" it out? 

Not sure where you are seeing a S swell, what forecast are you using?

Se wind 15 to 25 kt...becoming W 20 to 25 kt in the afternoon. Wind waves 3 to 5 ft. W swell 5 ft.

Local:

Thursday: SSE wind 16 to 23 kt becoming W in the morning. Rain. W swell 4 ft. Wind waves 2 ft building to 5 ft.

Those wind waves don't look like much fun

Just looked on msw, don't see any south swell for Westport as fast as they predict out.

My OP was at midnight. At tht time the swells, while not purely south, they were southerly.
