Apparently Verizon Wireless has a deal going where you can get the Casio G'zOne Commando smartphone "free" with a new 2-year contract.  Previously they were IIRC $180 with a 2-year contract.  I'll probably bite the bullet and get one.

Maybe that means they got a new model on the way!

Could be.  I know Casio was showing off a prototype G'Shock smartphone back in January.  Supposed to be even more rugged.

Saw this guy pop up recently.  Specs seem pretty similar to the Commando.  No details on a carrier yet.

The G'Shock phone looks pretty sweet too.  Hope they make it to market soon.

I like my G'Zone.  The camera sucks in low light and zoom doesn't work, but with a float on it I don't worry about a little water.

I agree the camera sucks for anything shy of still art and in a bright area.
The zoom feature only works on the lower pixel setting.  Crappy, but I'll take the waterproof text/phone/GPS feature any day over a camera.
