I have a 2008 Revo13.  The handle to put the rudder up and down broke on me today.  Anybody else have this problem? Any ideas how to fix it?  The local shop didn't have any replacement handles, thinking of making my own.

The actual plastic T-handle?  Seems like any short piece of dowel would do in a pinch.

I've mostly stopped using the up and down controls on my Revo13.  I'll wade out into a few feet of water, drop the rudder by hand, lock it in with the down string, drop in the drive, hop aboard and go.

Coming in I free up the rudder lockdown (just in case), and hop out when I'm shallow enough for me but deep enough not to bottom the drive.  Pull up the rudder and drive, and beach it.

Yes, the plastic handle.  My boat doesn't have the pull type levers.  More of a twist into a pretzel to reach the lever which puts the rudder up and down.  I think a new fab with metal instead of plastic is called for (probably why Hobie changed the design).  I was hoping somebody had already worked out the bugs.

Can you take a picture of said part, and possibly the way it fits together on the Revo.  I can't make any suggestions without knowing exactly what you are working with.

Talked with another Hobie shop (Sacramento), they turned me onto an upgrade which deletes the lever up/down for rudder and adds the t-handle pull system.  Have it ordered and can't wait to install it.  This fix should work the best I think.
