I've pretty much pushed my self into it. Been thinking all winter long about it. I think it would e fun and a great way to troll for salmon and reach out a little farther for halibut.

Last summer the biggest thing that was a bummer was fighting the tidal current and the wind. And that resulted in less fishing time. Also the peeing thing sucked to and it looks easier to do with a more stable kayak.

One thing I'm hung up on besides the cost, is how wet the ride looks.

But like I said I'm on the brink!

Haha.  I'm dreaming of a TI.  I may need to get four on the water this summer at once. They sure are pricey...especially if you start looking at trailers...

The ride is wet.  I sit in a puddle even if on a lake if I have the akas, amas, and sail on. It rides just low enough to make a puddle under my butt.  I'm considering the skipper seat mod the Aussies do to get up a bit.

I'm also trying a different rod holder out this year after last summer. Going to try the Aussie bullhorn setup.

It's a wicked cool ride and fun, once you get around the price tag.  I do not regret the purchase.

I've had my AI for a year and really enjoy it. I'm been very cautious about how far out I go as I get to know the boat--2 klicks out into the strait (Juan de Fuca) is my limit so far but I will push that more this summer. Trolling is great under sail--with a bit of wind it's easy to set your gear, hook it on the rigger and get it down to your depth without having to peddle while doing so. Part of the fun for me is simply learning how to sail--never really done it before.

Update! It's on it's way. I have around 10 agonizing days till it arrives but its gonna be sweet. I ordered it in red, black trampolines and the hobie trailer.

Who did you order it through?

Picked up the Hobie Outback in yellow yesterday!!!!  Sailing rudder, turbo fins, Amas and sail kit will go on the new outback.

Looks like sailing lessons are in order!!!

Can't wait to see your and Akfishin's AI's in action!!!

Gotta say I've never actually been in the shop but he's hit me up behind the scenes on a few things.  GREAT customer service from him.

Same here.  When I actually have the money for a new Hobie I'll be calling him.
