I am still in need of a cart.  I have considered making one... but I am not convinced of the longevity.  Mind you... they may last forever, but are the makers of the homemade carts still using them or did you decide you should just get __________ cart?  I had someone tell me long ago, buy once, cry once... for the most part this seems to have been true in my own life.

Whether you made or bought... would a scupper cart be the way to go or the strap on kind?

If it makes a difference... I am looking for one for me t13.

Buried in those threads someplace, a wise fisherman wrote that most seem to build a cart or two, then after they fail they buy a Wheeleez beach cart. Imagine my delight when the PVC cart Hubs constructed broke during the week of REI's anniversary sale. I am now very happy with how that Wheeleez cart gets me to the water.

Thanks - I have read those and more.  Looking for any new info.  If it matters, I regularly use the search function and google before asking a question.  None the less, thanks for taking the time to look those up, I look forward to fishing with you.

Didn't mean to be harsh, there is a lotta information to be found on those threads.

Scupper carts are easier to use but will cause hull damage if left on for too long (overnight etc), strap-on carts are better for the hull but generally takes longer to attach/remove

Build a cart from scratch if you are confident in your skills.
Buy a cart if you are not.

I have built two, and bought one.
The first cart I built was the "Granny Walker" cart that I used to cart one or two kayaks at a time.
Worked great till I did purchase a strap on Wheeleez cart for the T-13.

Built a second cart from Sched 80 PVC for my Revo (scupper style) and been using it exclusively on the Hobie for two years now.

I have 3 carts to include a Wheeleez scupper cart (Hobie), but my favorite of them all is this one

http://codpaddlesports.3dcartstores.com/Heavy-Duty-Stainless-Steel-Wheel-Cart_p_14.html

It's easy to load, and it seems to cradle my hull better that the collapsible style. It has plastic buckles on nylon straps attached to the cart that just clip together, so no fooling with running straps around the frame of the cart. It's a little heaver than some others, and the clips that hold the wheels on required an immediate upgrade. Outside of that, I've been really happy with it.

Built a scupper cart out of thin copper pipe and fittings. Works like a charm. I kept breaking my PVC one.

Bite the bullet and buy a wheelez ... not the little one either. When it is strapped down it will roll over almost anything and it is strong enought to stack two T-13s and still allow of easy one hand tow.

I first used a scupper cart for my T13, but after a few trips across a rocky beach the uprights bent.  Got a Wheelez Beach Cart (the larger version) after that and have not had any issues with it.  I did replace the stock wheel pins because the stock ones kept popping off when brushed by brush/sticks/grass.  I rarely use the supplied straps and use a couple bungies instead.  I rinse it off religiously and it seems to be holding up in it's third year of use.
