I have a friend who told me to tell him when he was ready for me to do some testing in my kayak with there sonar system... it requires too much equipment, but it sure would be cool.

I wonder if that "rotating view up to 300 feet" means 300 feet in diameter, radius, or depth.

Great stuff on youtube on this....  $2k for the setup on pre-order from Cabela's.  The feature of being able to direct the scan to match your drift and see out in front with that detail is amazing.  Being able to see that shelf or ledge and adjust your jigging height before snagging up, seeing the kelp stumps, holy cow....  Christmas bonus might already be spent....

The North Atlantic is America's deadliest sea, claiming 165 lives in the last ten years. Captain Eddie Welch has survived three hurricanes and a boat sinking. Scallop dredging in the North Atlantic is known to be the most dangerous of all.

Great stuff on youtube on this....

I looked at a number of vids on YouTube and never saw a depth over 30'.  Up to 150' from the boat.  Cool technology, but me thinks this is something to make the BassCar set wet.

I wonder if that "rotating view up to 300 feet" means 300 feet in diameter, radius, or depth.

It is 300 square feet in area but only if the water salinity is below 7. So it most likely won't work in the ocean just the sound.
I am sure you will be able to DIY something better.....

I don't care who you are ---that's funny......
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

I think I "bleeped" in my pants!

I'm wondering how much a "structure shadow" with interfere with an actual 360 scan.
