Hey all,

I was thinking of trying to hit the port townsen area this weekend since I did not make it out last weekend.  I have never fished that area, how protected are the bays?  I checked weather.com and they mention 1-4 ft swells and 10-20 k winds should I look else where for fish?  And any other ideas for good places to fish this weekend?

Just got an update from Verles in Shelton.  they say the blackmouth is picking up in the canal from ayock point to the union bend is looking up.  lots of bait in.  So I will be launching from either union or lilliwuap.  If the weather is bad I might try up around ayock point I hear it may be more sheltered up there or hit one of the lakes for trout.

Well we fished the great bend of the hood canal today, we launched out of the union and drug herring around for a few hours caught one flounder by accident.  no salmon the WDFW boat stopped by and said they had only seen one fish caught.  We were showing bait between 100-130 feet but it is still a little early I think.  The water was mirror smooth this morning when we launched so all in all a good day on the water
