Blood & Guts on the Drysuit

Ok, now that I have one I'm wondering about the negative effects of too much blood and cleaning etc of this pricey bit of equimpment.  I seldom come home without blood and slime on my waders etc, (OK, that is when I'm catching and not just fishing) I wear it on my pfd like a badge of honor.  How do the rest of you handle this concern?  Blood is rough on stuff.

Rinse with hose and spray nozzle, hang in garage to dry. I've washed it in my frontloader twice in the almost 3 years I've owned it. I have a detergent made for gortex, wetsuits, and what not. ran on gentle cycle and hung up to dry. The biggest thing is lube your zipper, and do it often!

I wash myself off at the launch by wading around and splashing water on me. Then I rinse the suit off with fresh water when I get home.

Same as above... get the big chunks off at launch rinse with fresh water and hang dry. I have washed my suit once in two years when the girlfriend said it was getting funky. Go to any dive shop and get dry suit detergent and zipper wax. The wax stays in my tote that I haul gear in and gets applied every other trip or so.

303 aerospace protectant on the latex seals, wax the zippers after every use, at least rinse after each use and keep out of the sun when not wearing.  Drysuits should last years and years.

So not much of a suggestion to cleaning but a suggestion to before cleaning pre-wet your gear that could potentionaly get bloody make it easier to rinse off cause you have a barrier of water thats gets bloody before your gear.  I do this in the river alot, try to clean in deeper water so it doesnt stick on wet wader than on dry!
