Sauvies Island launches open?

I'm considering a trip this weekend to try for early springers around Coon Island.  Last year when I fished for shad I launched from a boat ramp down at the tip of Sauvies and went about a mile or two upstream to Coon.  I also found a nice unimproved spot to launch just upstream of Coon that was down a dirt road on the south side of the island, past a locked gate.

I know the fisheries in the interior of the island are closed, but I'm assuming launching is fair game?  Anyone knof icf the gate is open to access the unimproved launch spots?

The interior lakes are closed for hunting season, but I launched from the Gilbert River boat ramp about a week or so ago no restricitons.

I noticed a couple of crude access points near Coon Island on Google Earth.  Looks like you could get to them quickly off of Hwy 30.  It might be worth doing a little scouting.
