Greetings from down south where I've been wasting time thinking instead of fishing,

So what's the biggest PITA with using strap on carts (trolleys if you're on the other side of the pond) Strapping it on!
The durn thing slides around, either twisting and causing the boat to crab, or slides off the boat and comes loose. The solution?
Strap down HARDER!!

Or how about no straps at all? I saw something similar on a UK yakfishing board and came up with this:

Tie a 15' line around each of the saddles of your cart.

Lay them out where the bow will be when you mount the cart.

Put the boat on the cart,

then grab the lines and bend them together (I love those sailorey terms) just shy of the bow. That forms a big loop with the cart with both lines of equal length.

Bring that knot up over the bow so that it hangs on the grab handle. Gather up the line and go where you're going.

SOOOO much easier than strapping on a cart, plus it makes it easy to center and balance the boat. It'll ride just fine without any other attachment going forward over relatively flat ground, but if you add one conventional strap around the cart and boat, it'll go anywhere. My neighbors must have thought I was mad, marching up and down the street and through our yards dragging a variety of kayaks.
Here"s a  vid of mounting the boat and going over the obstacle course in my front yard:

(Man! I really gotta get rid of my outer child {that 8 yo attached to my middle})

It's perfect for the C-Tug and the like, but it should work wonders with any non-scupper cart. The two equal lines don't allow the cart to twist or slip.  You could customize the length of the line to your boat and just use one, forming a loop that will reach your bow. I move a lot of different boats and the two longer lines let me adjust it to fit anything less than 20'.

Another little serendipity is it lets you easily adjust the balance point of your rig by raising the boat on its end and pulling the cart forward or sliding the boat.

Now for my next trick.... I gotta come up with some better wheels.   :icon_scratch:

My only concern would be it bouncing off of the cart.

Let's see that video.

Hey, give me a break! I'm a wuss from Florida now and its raining ...... but that's ok, it'll be over in a minute :sunny:

Actually it will bounce off if you hit a curb sideways without a strap (damhik). As I mentioned, it's fine for fairly flat ground and it also doesn't go backwards for any distance (think pushing ropes).  That said, I drug it over some fairly substantial moguls and it did surprisingly well. But for curb jumping, stair climbing, getting air and grinds, you gotta add at least a light strap.

So y'all didn't noticed the replacement leg on the cart huh?

Looks like it works pretty well. I've been thinking about getting one of those carts. I'm not super thrilled with the scupper cart that I use now. I find that I'd rather just carry my kayak to the launch.
