Couldn't let Matt monopolize the good weather so I thought I better give it a try.

Could you have asked for a better day weather wise? I don't think so!

The chickens were out in force. Fished maybe 3 hours and had consistent action from halibut. Too bad they were all between 10 and 15 pounds. Boated maybe a dozen of them in 65 feet of water. Kept two and it's amazing how much meat you can get from these fish.

Saw porpoises, otters, and seals. Saw salmon hopping around but couldn't tell what they were. Trolled for a bit but never did hook up. The interesting thing about today was even though I was soaking herring, the only fish I caught were halibut. No irish lords, no cod, no skates...nothing other than halibut. I did land a few halibut that were just covered with large sea lice. Looked healthy otherwise but looked a little creepy. Didn't see any that seemed soft or thin.

Way to get out there Rudy......

I always get a kick out of your video's.And this one is one exception.
Love your left hook at 2 minutes in...................not.

That did look like a great day on the water..nice and calm, sunny, hardly even a ripple on the surface.
Still waiting for you to video a 50 lb'er.Should be hillarious.

Have fun my friend, and keep 'em coming.

Wish I could be up there helping to catch a biggun.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Love it, Rudy!  That looks like a great day on the water -- lots of hook ups and something for the freezer too.  What a gorgeous day -- rare for Cook Inlet to be so lake-like.  I especially like the angle on your camera that allows us to watch the halibut emerge from the murky depths.  Always a thrill, no matter the size on the fish.

Did you connect with Matt while there?

Wish you were around Mark too!

Pam,  I did see Matt.  He had started earlier and I didn't catch up to him in the water.  That boy covers some ground!!!

I also ran into another Kayaker I have known a while online but never met in person.  Great weather, good fishing, great times!

I did learn that in such sunny weather your gopro can fog up.  That was frustrating.  Next time, I am sending one of the cameras underwater to take a look!
