Fished off of Beechey Head in East Sooke today, trying out my AI for trolling under sail. Worked like a charm--I was able to troll using my rigger for most of the day without pedaling (except when I came about). Managed to get the skunk off the boat with a 15 lb king. I think i might try a heavier ball, perhaps moving from 5 up to 8 lbs since the sail and rudder seem to be able to handle it.

2nd trip with the AI at Muir Creek yesterday from 12-3 pm. Landed this king about 2:30 on a trolled anchovy with no flasher.

Since it was stinking hot with absolutely no wind yesterday, I had to take a break from pedaling to jig for awhile during lunch, then back to trolling. I think I went through 1 1/2 litres of water and was down to shorts, t shirt and life jacket after an hour.
