Flies and gear for Comox/Campbell River?

Expect to be up there end of July rather than at Gold River. Would sure love to tangle with coho etc. casting/wading from shore or from the yak. Has anyone fly-fished that area late July/early August? Any favorite patterns or gear suggestions?

We are going up in early aug, I believe hey have pinks there then, it's supposed to be combat fishing so we may try in the ocean, use pink flies, different weighted eyes, estaz body, marabou tail, all in pink, weird but they work. I'm not often on here but you ca try an pm me, thx
