Just noticed this - interesting. Not a bad solution.

http://www.rammount.com/NewProducts/ramtransducerarmmount/tabid/4459/Default.aspx

(Never mind that the graphic designer shows the background image with the transducer installed backwards and illuminating a sonar cone out of the back of the transducer like a flashlight. Also on one of the gallery pics)

What do you do with all the leftover cable?

My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

I think I'd have to mess with that in person before buying that, as I wonder if it will hold its strength over time.

Pretty cool. One more thing to get tangled up though or forget to pull up before landing.

Ram products are pretty solid.

I'm totally sold, no question about it.  But damnit RAM, why do you have to make yourselves look like idiots with the pictures you have on that site!

I've got to agree.  Love the "flashlight transducer" but also like the photo of the transducer arm mounted to a Hobie PA.  Kind of pointless with Hobie's slick PA transducer rigging.  Maybe it's an old school PA 14?

That is a new model PA, so yeah, it would defeat the purpose.  Then again, that is a CGI rendering of a Hobie.  So maybe they just wanted to use a nice lookin' boat to show off their new product on.   ;)

The PA photo is ok since one benefit is portability between yaks vs permanent mounting. This wil join my wish list for Christmas.

This is where I put it on a T13.  On the Revo it is ziptied into a similar coil and placed around the foam block.

I just wish I could find a dealer that would sell me this:

http://www.rammount.com/CatalogResults/PartDetails/tabid/63/partid/082065080045049049052045080065085/Default.aspx

It isn't even available on their site.  I may have to resort to hacking a Scotty extender arm for my RAM ROD Light Speed I won at Sunset Bay.

Hmmm. I was thinking you could grab a ratchet ball and then just use the normal mounts, but those aren't in stock yet either, plus the cost skyrockets.  :-\ Scotty hack-job may be the way to go.
Looks like everything cool on this page isn't available yet:
http://www.rammount.com/NewProducts/fishingrodextensionarm/tabid/4367/Default.aspx

So far, I like their composite components. No powder-coating to flake off.

Maybe you've seen this, but there is the aluminum option if you don't mind spending ~$45 for the $12 part you want.  :P

But you just know the one you want will be available the day after you go another route.

It's pretty funny how over the last couple of years Scotty stuff is starting to look like RAM stuff and RAM stuff is starting to look like Scotty stuff.   :D

I noticed that too.  The scotty will mate with the Ram but the bolt sized are different.  Also, I will have to carve away a little plastic but that  way  it will be compatible with all my scottty flush mounts on my various  yaks. Ironically some have been  fit with the Ram wedge ball.  :dontknow:
