Silvers showing in Whittier

This was the best fish I took out of the head of the bay at Whittier today.  I didn't have much time to fish, and found this silver hen in about 35' about 100 yards offshore from the rock wall at the end of the airstrip. I was trolling herring on a #5 Pro-Troll (e-chip) at 2.7 mph, and hooked up on my second pass. The tide was just starting to rise, and there wasn't a soul around.  There are pinks entering the stream north of the airstrip, and they were easy to catch on my flyrod. I was just hitting them on the head with the biggest bunny bug I had on board -- didn't keep any, just fishing for grins.

Sweet!!! Nice catch!  Got a golf tournament Sunday but gonna try somewhere Saturday...I hope!!!
