I an looking for kayak for my girlfriend. I am thinking about something like a mini-x. I don't have much of a budget, unless you are interested in making a trade.

I would not recommend a mini x for your girlfriend... that thing is a tank and not fun to paddle very far.

You should look around for a Perception Tribe, they are light and fairly cheap even brand new. I think I paid $450.00 for ours .

Where are you two looking to use it? West Marine and Dick's has some pretty good deals every so often. Watch for the sales. Sign up for West Marine's email list, the often have some pretty good coupons. Here are a couple of options,

What do you have to trade?

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

Off the top of my head:
9 foot pontoon boat
Tons of decoys (duck and goose, even some DSDs)
2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
XBOX 360 and a bunch of games
Lots of fishing poles/reels. I need to go through and decide what I am going to keep/get rid of.

I will take a peek in the garage when I get home and see what else I can think of!

I bought my girlfriend an ocean kayak Venus 11... it's pink. she's used it one time.

I might sell it soon, but you're kinda far.

I also have an old 3 hp motor and a 35hp suzuki. I think the 35 is a 96.

These guys are still holding their clearance sale if that helps.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/bod/3357218459.html

also check craigslist for your area. right now in the seattle /tacoma listings are several good buys.

As of July 12th, I am, officially,  retired.
