So what crap weather to be on the water but I made the promise to myself earlier this week that I was going to go fishing to day rain or shine and try to get some kayak war points.
This was my first attempt at trolling and I had 0 luck. I was trolling a rapalla xrap in rainbow trout and a rapalla countdown in rainbow trout, along with a spinner. Spent for hours out there and didn't even get a nibble. Planned on staying longer after the wind died down but I went to tie on a different lure and my fingers were so frozen I couldn't get them to cooperate.

Well no fish. But I did get to test out my GoPro

You might want to consider slow drifting a nightcrawler or dropping some power bait eggs into a nice hole.
But good for you for getting out there!

I don't do good trolling this time of year.  The fish are moving too slow.  I'd try bouncing the bottom instead of trolling.

Its Lake Nahwatzel btw ;) Wow I'm surprised you made it out there today, good for you.

I caught a very nice holdover rainbow trolling last weekend so it is possible to catch em on the troll. Personally I find sitting on anchor very cold this time of year

When the weather clears, try trolling next to the shallows, mid morning after the sun warms up the top couple feet of water just a bit.

Agreed on that I stopped a few times out there and did a little cast and retrieve but I didn't last long before I had to paddle again.

Micah have you ever hit black lake? Or there is a little tiny trout lake called Munn lake? Those are super close by.

Anthony,

Black lake is close to Olympia buts its absolutely disgusting IMO, the entire lake is a soup of algae. Its not just looks or mere conjecture, there are large amounts of algal toxins in that lake, so much so that the lake is closed for swimming. I couldn't troll for more than 100 feet without get my lure covered in gobs of algae, plants etc etc.
Never been to Munn, I think its C&R only IIRC.

I'd try Offut Lake, its not too far away.
