So I sat at work the other day drawing up a fishin schedule for the next year, and I found that there was a hole on January and February... For the life of me I couldn't think of anything worth fishing for... I mean sure, you got the last dregs of zombie chum the beginning of January, but not much else.... So here's my question, isbthere anything worth fishing for in the south sound during these darkest of months?

   Think STEELHEAD..........duh !!!!!!!!!! >:D >:D >:D
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.

She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

I just heard rumor that up here on the upper columbia they are going to close steelhead the end of november, and then re-open it sometime in february again.  Ice fishing at Fish lake, and shore angling for Trout at Rufus Woods  is in my future.

Tenmile Creek opened up May 26 thru Dec 31 2012 and is open from Jan 1 thru April 30 2013 for fin clipped steelhead. Thats the mouth up to Hilltop bridge. Then above the the bridge it's open for fin clipped year around. A few native fish have shown up.

Yeaaaa...
Steelhead make me crazy.  I caught a nice 30 incher a couple years ago in the Salmon River, Pulaski NY,   that was a trip, I can see why people go after them, but theyre ghosts,  just one of those fish that if i want to catch, its gonna cost me my sanity and alot of pain.... it would make sense that theyre like the only thing to fish for during the misery of the never ending rainy months

Never fished 10 mile creek--sorry but I can't help there.

I mostly steelhead on the Olympic Peninsula so I can suggest some creeks out this way.Satsop,Wynnochee,Queets,Willapa,North,Elk,Humptulips,Quinalt,Hoquiam,Wishkah,Palix,Nemah Rivers and Smith Creek for steelhead.A lot of options available.

There should be plenty of options in the south sound area too.Good luck........
