FYI - For anybody looking for a new fishing Kayak,  I was at Sportsman's Warehouse in Portland yesterday and noticed they had some of thier Ocean Kayak Big Game's on sale for $650.  I bought mine there on sale for $850 a couple of months ago, and really like it, but it's the only Kayak I have experience with (and not much at that...sigh).  Methinks that's a pretty good price.

BTW - I'm not affliated with them, or anybody else for that matter, just passing along the info.

Yup, insane price for sure.  I'm not sure that you'll ever be able to beat this deal for a new BG.

Bumping this up... there are still a couple of these left on sale at the Sportsman's Warehouse on 82nd in Clackamas (along with some fancy ultralight fiberglass paddles for $90).  I was tempted, but I don't think my 5' tall wife will be amused to find herself paddling a 70 pound boat.

Think this might be an option for my little woman, who's about 6'1" and unstable (as in clumsy, not mentally :) ?  It's a bit shorter then my X-Factor.  Or should I look more at this:

Owww!  This is just painful to read.  I spent a easy grand on the boat alone before riggin it!  Oh well - I guess I can learn my lesson and hold off an buying a Trident in hopes of price cut in a couple of years.

If you didn't buy it before, you wouldn't have been using it last summer.  That in itself is worth the price of admission, right?

Very true!  I have enjoyed it.  Also, I just reviewed my paperwork and I actually paid $900 with 20% off with an REI sale so it's not as bad as I made it out to be.  Bring on the Trident sale!

Well, after looking at it again last night, all lonesome and forlorn all by itself,  no one paying it any attention... I broke down and bought the last Big Game for $625 tonight.  We'll see how hard it is for my wife to manage, and it will also serve as my river fishing/crab pulling craft.
