Anyone here have experience with a NuCanoe?  I've been reading and watching lots of videos about them and it seems like a perfect boat to take the kids/dog out on the river for some fishing, but they are so wide I'm concerned that they may not track all that well.  Are they an easy paddle?

I'd really like to demo one but can't find a place close to Portland that carries them...any suggestions?

Thanks, I've checked out his posts.

They're in Salem.
Thanks Ling, I called On The Water and asked a few questions.

Just in case anyone is interested:

I was told that there are two models of the NuCanoe, the Frontier and the Classic.  The Frontier seems to have lots of advantages including scupper holes and a built in track system that allows you to move gear around easily (and works YakAttach attachments), access hatch to the inside, and changes to the bottom of the boat so it tracks better.  Really seems like a cool boat, perfect for bringing the kids along.

I am going to head down there at some point to demo both styles.

They look cool, I checked one out at the sportsmen show. I talked to the sales guy and he basically said it was a great flat water boat but was difficult to paddle in a strong current or wind. Seems like it would be a good family boat though.

Yes I have a classic 12 I've had for about 3 yrs they are great boats for cruzing the river or fishing fairly calm water. They track very well and you can pack alot of gear in them, for over night fishing trips. But the downfall is the wind and you have to have a very long paddle. They are very customizable have lots of built in screw attachments. On the classic you have a channel down the center that I made a standing platform over and a fishfinder mount I also put a swivel seat on it so you can turn in all directions and fight your fish. The plus is they are very stable so great for kids and dogs. I have about 5 friends who also have them we bought them all at the same time cash and got a deal to hard to pass up. But it is not my got to fishing setup I prefer my sit on top due to its speed and weight difference. If you need more info or want to ck it out hit me up and we can go fish for a day. Hope this helps. John
