looking for launch spots in and around Newport-both protected as well as surf launches that get you close to good bottom fishing spots

if conditions are good may be going this weekend so would like to hook up as well

thanks

Good place to check would be Local chamber or a local Port office. I just sent another NWKA memeber a map of local launch for kayaks in Tillamook county.

Hey 'Clone,

Not much in that area. Just the regular power boat ramp at South Beach Marina. Four lanes of fun! Everything else that I know of is grit beach break. Punchbowl gives you some shelter from N swell and you can catch a nice rip out.

Good luck!

Probably worth the drive up to Depoe Bay.

If it's big outside, you can launch at the elbow of the south jetty.  The Port of Newport agreed to developing this spot as a manpowered vehicle launch with additional parking.  As it is, it's just a short hop over the jetty to the finger jetties in the river.

If it's small and north you can launch just south of Yaquina Head.  If it's too big for that, you can head a little north to Depoe Bay.

Let us know how you do.
