Well I guess I got April fooled by all the fish! Skunked again. Not even a bite! I trolled around from 11-1 and then just drifted around the banks and relaxed and casted and retrieved and did a little fly fishing until 3:30 when I hopped off the water. The weather was so nice it didn't even matter that I couldn't find the fish. Saw PB around me bringing in fish but I had no luck. Don't really know if I am doing this trolling thing right. I trolled 2 different rapelas in rainbow patern and two different rooster tails. Then I casted and retrieved the rapelas. I saw fish jumping so I started throwing some flies but I forgot my main trout box so I only had one wholly bugger and a bunch of bass flies and a few trout flies.
Had fun regardless might get out again this week

Looks like an awesome day to be on the water!  Don't worry, it gets easy once you start catching them.   Stick to it and you'll start getting a couple of fish here and there and then it's like a switch gets turned on.

Looks awesome out there!  I usually will troll wedding rings with a crawler chunk or just troll a bare worm at Offutt.

Hope to see you out there sometime.  I love that lake in the afternoons after work!

I'd try a wedding ring spinner with a small flasher 24" in front of it.

Is it worth it to just sit a worm below a bobber or off the bottom when I am just relaxing? It was nice to just chill in the sun and spit sunflower seeds. As well as troll around

A 1/4 egg weight to a 3 foot leader using half a nightcrawler that has been ballooned using a worm blower works really well. Cast out and wait, or slowly bounce the bottom on a slow troll. Money.

To be honest I've never had much success at Offut Lake either. Went a couple times this winter and got skunked over and over.

Summit Lake opens in a few weeks and there is a 5mph speed limit till May 31st. That is by far my favorite lake in the Olympia area at least when the jetskis are off the water.

Anthony any idea how fast you were trolling? I find that zig-zagging a bit instead of trolling in straight lines gets more bites but I'm no expert by any means.

Did you ask the PBs what they were using?

As they say...Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery :)

I don't know how fast for sure. I tried all kinds of different speeds eve just drifting before the wind died off.

I didn't bother to ask the PB because right now I only have 6 things in my spinning tackle box.
