www.e21fishing.com

have been looking at these about 10 months. understand the replacement of the modulus fibre in a quality graphite rod with high tensile bio fibre from carrots. makes for an interesting color too.

not to mention, now we are fishing with a part of the environment.

anyone know how these things are holding up in actual use?

Just stay away from horses and bunnies and you should be fine.  :)
Seriously though... I really like the looks of the rods and for what it is worth I've been hitting boards across the country to get a perspective.  I've not found anyone with enough time on the rod to make any determinations.  I'm also concerned about the durability of the new compound so for now I'm sticking with known materials and will keep an eye on it.  BTW  and FWIW, I ended up getting several of the Bass Pro Shops Extreme XPS rods on sale and they look and feel great for $60.

ROFL, my main concern was human form jackasses, but thanx for the warning..
glad to know someone has been actually using those $150.00 orange sticks.. kind of treating these like a new model 1st year car, are you?
damn, hate missing a good sale, most of the time , it happens that i don't have the spendola's when the sales come round.. or i'm stuck in the ass end of nowhere like now

A new car model is a perfect analog so I'll wait for the long term test drives to come back in.    FWIW, I saw those BPS rods are still on sale if you are still looking.

They have a new spinner called the Pro Qualifier on sale @ $79  http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=98315&hvarTarget=search&hvarAID=&cmCat=3334205

The ones I have (bait and spin) are the Extremes on sale for $59  http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=59067&hvarTarget=search&hvarAID=&cmCat=3334205

I am impressed with Extremes but if they had the Pros available I'd probably go with it.  (I like the look of the exposed blank in the handle)

Cheers

Those BPS rods look pretty good. Could you give us a review about what you think of the BPS rod Toddwmac? The pro's and con's of it etc.

IMO, for the cash, I don't think you can beat an Ugly Stick. Still my go to if I need a rod and am strapped for cash. Combo that w/ a Shimano Sahara and you've got a solid setup for about $100.

I agree the Ugs are hard to beat; I have a couple still going strong.  My interest in some of the other rods was prompted by my understanding that without an ultra high modulus, inobtanium reinforced, buckyball impregnated, ceramicly guided, nanotubler, Fullerene rod, there was no way I could catch any fish up here in the Northwest.  :)

nice bargain, roy, ...did the same thing a couple months back when i went into "new tackle" mode of spending.. found 2 great combo's on sale for like 30% -50% off and snapped them up....think the most i've ever paid for any combo is one of my feathercaster setups..and even that was a reduction sale.
