What kind of things do you have on your to-do list for your yak this spring as everyone gets ready for the fishing season? I spent a pleasant day crossing off my to do's in prep for halibut fishing next week.
Here's what got done today on my list for my AI:
1. Mounted an Austin Kayak anchor trolley that's been lurking in my cupboard all winter.
2. Mounted a Railblaza starport on my portside stern aka for a second rod holder(It was lurking in the same cupboard.).
3.  Figured out my splash guard on my port side so I can collapse my ama when catching a fish. I attached a piece of stretchy cord to the inboard line to do this.
4. Mounted a pair of Hobie tramps, one of which I will deploy next week for a space to flop that 70 lb halibut.  ;)

Get ready? I'm at 36 days of fishing so far this year, I'm just trying to keep up on gear maintenance task between trips.

If you never stop, you don't have to start up again. Inertia is awesome.

Ask Rory if he has a down season, he's out twice as often as I am. Fish ON.

Holy smokes--good for you! I've only been out twice since the New Year.

Then get on the ferry and pop over and fish with us. I was up there for work on Thursday, its an hour by float plane. No big deal. I'm picking up some friends off the Blackball today in fact to yak fish the OP this weekend. We can set you up with a boat down here if you want to walk on.

T2, that will work out great. Hauling gear across is the hardest and most expensive part. I'm 20 miles across the strait from you now on Fresh Water Bay. I live in Seattle, but come out here a lot staying at a buddies extra house. We'll certainly hook up this year for some fishing on either side.

Winter is supposed to be my project time, I'm still working on last years.

1. Plastic repair on bottom of yak.
2. Install rod holders on tandem.

This is a good start

Organize the garage again.

In at 0730 out by 0930. I was at Dungeness spit, not a good place to play with the currents. I put in a very short effort for Blackmouth resulting in nothing, mostly a fitness paddle (which I need).

...with half the fish! :D
