I was out with a friend camping at the Potholes State Park. I managed a number of catfish, some trout, one nice bass (a small one as well) and this respectable walleye. In the future I would like to do some more exploring but definitely enjoyed the sun shine. Could have done without some of the wind though. I'd like to rope in a catfish at night... preferably a brute.

Nice catch...been wanting to camp there..a little confusion about pothole lakes and potholes reservoir..? Is the campground close to the lake?  Can ya get a 27 ft trailer into that camp area?Does grilled walleye taste good? Am i asking too many questions? :D

Potholes is right next to Moses Lake. If confused walk south from Moses Lake until you fall in. There is a lot of camping around the lake some of which could be free and decent and others full of kids spinning around on dirt bikes or thieves stealing your campsite while you are on the water. Normally I stay at the Potholes State Park. There is a lot of parking space but I don't think a 27 foot trailer is going to fit at the primitive sites. It should be ok though because there's a large parking lot and boat launch at the park as well. The campground is very close to the lake. In fact there are spots less then 75 meters from the shore. I launched my kayak across from primitive site number 109 into Frenchman's Wasteway/Creek which is where I caught a number of fish. Finally, yes, walleye is great when you soak it in olive oil, vinegar and then grill it on butter and with garlic. Fantastic I tell you.. If you go to Potholes be aware that wind can be a problem and that a backup plan for where you want to fish is a good idea. I wanted to fish the Lind Coulee but it was too windy so I was near the park most of the time. The boats don't seem to care about kayakers from my experience. Which means you should be ready to get waked any time a boat is near. Even if they see you. Oh and if you go, make sure you kill the white duck.

Ray, that walleye is about the spookiest looking fish posted in a while - with the teeth and glowing eyes!  Looked much more appetizing on the grill.   Thanks for the report!  I'm gonna have to try and get one of those this year.

Yeah it was a surprise to me when it surfaced. I was thinking carp because it felt like a log and was running like one, then out came the river monster. Dumb luck I suppose. I was trying to target catfish (a big one) but I'm happy to get this ugly snaggle tooth :-)

Haha seriously! That is one evil looking fish.
