Halibut report

So far it has been a slow start. Out today for half a day with a neighbor and by noon only 6 fish had been caught. Largest was 30# the rest where 10 15# . This info taken from the counter at PA. Lots of boats out, heck I could barley get into Swains store cause everyone buying last minute gear.
Tommorow is the kids derby here for trout so thats where I will be. Good luck to all hot handed folks

At 3.5 pts per inch it takes a lot of halibut to get decent points.  I think the best part about halibut for AOTY is that they'll probably be the rarest catch on the board so having even a small one under your belt gives you an advantage over most everyone else.

I think this is the one AOTY fishery where WA has and advantage over OR.

Brian, I've caught a 40lber about a mile off the beach, at Cannon Beach. There's a couple of relatively protected launch sites near there and there are few PBers to compete with.
