So here is a newbie question....If I'm looking at the exact same brand, style and test rating, is there any difference between the line on a bulk reel or a small reel labelled "leader"?  My guess is that they are the same and that the smaller reel is produced for convenience.

Thanks,
Jay

Yep, you nailed it right on the head. Same line just small roll to shove in your pocket for making leaders..
See ya on the water..

speaking of leaders...do you guys get all crazy with the leader material or is it not such a big deal with the fishing in the area...used to do a little red fishing in florida and they were all crazy about the flurocarbon...i tended to use 200 pound steel braided leader but i was mostly shark fishing lol...i tried the flurocarbon while redfishing and didn't see a huge change in hook ups or anything but then again i didn't catch a huge amount of redfish anyways

I only worry about fluoro on lakes streams where I'm fly fishing, and the fish are already "educated".
