I've met you rev, and I'm being rational. If you can't go out fishing today on the sound you can't go out any day.  I'm tempted to drive to the sound and show a video of glass.

I guess you'll continue to miss the point.  This whole conversation was never really about whether he should go out on the Sound this weekend.  It was about what he should be aware of.

But as has been said on here, you shouldn't go out on any water if you can not recover from immersion.  I assume anyone out on the water will wear a pfd, I assume anyone on the water will have a way of getting back on thier yak.

Bad assumptions.  Many of us have been around the kayak fishing scene long enough to know this is far from the truth.  By all accounts, you've been doing this since March.  About how many times have you actually been on the water kayak fishing?

I know we have met.  Those were some good days fishing.  I'm not sure what the return "jab" would be for since I did not jab... unless it is just you being funny.

I'm sure you have re-read the posts... things started south on your first post.  The comments about and wind and tidal swing not killing anyone was not worded well for someone who expresses being a noob on the salt, but that isn't a big deal overall, but it was prudent for someone else to point out that tidal swing and wind does have the potential to end up killing you (which I did).

It was your insulting comment, that apparently was sincere vs being a joke, that people here make up excuses to not fish.  It was the insulting nature that caused me to comment with "really dirk".  The closest anyone got, before you comment to discouraging windknot from going was demonick, and he even encouraged the guy to make the call when at the water, based on his (windknots) own evaluation of the situation.  YOU are the one that made it sound as if previous comments were all telling him to NOT go... he REQUESTED input and information about the area/sound/salt.

I have found that most of the people here encouraged me to fish, encouraged me to act responsibility, encouraged me to push my boundaries (not theirs), encouraged me to take the right gear, encouraged me to practice things like self-rescue... because of this I was, am, and will continue to be (as spot says) stoked about kayak fishing.  When we take all the parts...  the crazies (yaktrap-cause he goes way out there - I'm always wicked impressed), the travelers (polepole, fungunnin, rory), the jedi masters (spot, ohbryant), the creative (rawkfish), the passionate (pretty much all those guys and more... Lee, Bsteves, and tons more) and even the safety police... we get the whole that is greater then the sum of it's parts.  The thing we don't really need is unproductive sarcasm and an unwillingness to back away when we are wrong.  Chances are, when a whole bunch of people with kayak time on the water that measures in weeks, and maybe even months (I'm not that guy), are telling you that you are wrong - you need to consider that you are and be willing to admit it.  That is, of course, your choice, and no one thinks differently.

At the end of the day you can keep arguing your point... or just taking sarcastic jabs.  It makes little difference in the long run.  What matters most is that we fish, we make memories and... when asked (which the poster did do) - or when we see someone making a potentially life threatening choice (which the poster did not do) - we share what we know/think.

None I never go out, worried about the tides and wind.
But you should see how many stalker trout I have in my freezer next to the Atlantic
Salmon fillets and  the whole food's tillapia.

Oh and I've been doing this for along time. I just got banned from the last forum I was on for not letting things go, and being to safe. I learned one of my lessons, whoa.

They say the bigger man should walk away, so I say we both take a picture put it on here ( clothing optional, life jacket mandatory). Whoever is bigger walks away?

At this point, you're just stirring the pot.  Knock it off.

Anytime I see an argument unfold on the internet I think of this scene from the best movie ever. Let this defuse the situation. :D

Windknot, it's not normally like this. I'm not sure why we're wasting our time trying to reason with the unreasonable. Please look past the BS and take from this what you feel is valuable. Also, feel free to PM anyone on the forum for clarification on any of the points mentioned. I would say just ask it here,  but God knows how far some people are willing to go to continue to prove their agenda.

Rev I was just being funny, no offense.  Pole pole good times. I don't think either party involved will convince the other, so why not resort to humor.
Anyone I offended please forgive and anyone I made laugh smile. Heading out to pa halibut fishing.

Because it really isn't humorous.
