Nice day! glassy water on Pelican Bay.
We left out a couple of hours before high tide and paddled out the mouth of the Chetco and swung right. Heading for the many rocks that make up a very nice nearshore reef (200 yds or so out).
No love for the first hour or so and then Boulster catches a nice Kelp Greenling.
While he is stuffin' that one in the game bag....I hook into some lips me self. Barely a keeper but big 'nuff for supper. 23" Green Ling Cod (22" min here)
sun popped out around 11 and the wind picked up a bit, we started back to the River and paddled into the Port where we pulled my Crab traps, got a couple of dungies to go!
Hope all had a safe and happy weekend!

That's a pretty fish!  What did you hook it on?

Seems there were a few yak-fishers feasting on fresh ling this weekend.   ;D

Yeah BOR, lings and crab! Awesome any way you slice it. Although I think you sliced it and dipped it in butter. ;) Loving your neck of the woods. Kicking out some really good rock fish of all types. I haven't noticed you on the AOTY... you'd be doing pretty well if you were... ::)

Hey Spot!,
I just used one of my usual rigs...a couple of shrimp flies above a white rubber scampy jig.\
Or I just sling the jig past a rock and work it back (if ya get it back ;))

That's a fact Z! We got lotsa fish and other things to catch besides the forbidden Salmon ;D

It was a perfect day on the water for Boulster's first time on the Stoney-O.
Had to work today and the conditions are even better! it's 3 pm and still as flat as flat can be to the horizon.

wishin' I was fishin'
