Michele and I head to Seward to take a water taxi to Fox Island.  Day starts out super foggy, but slowly clears up.  On the way out, we run into several pods of Dall porpoises.
We see steller sealions, humpback whales, eagles, and assorted other birds.

Fishing was slow.  A few rockfish.  Mainly quillbacks.  I think you can only keep one in the Bay.

So once again the highlight of the trip is Michele’s great photos!  She had some great opportunities but like fishing, its super tough to be in the right place at the right time all the time!!!  Hard to believe she was bummed she didn't get all the shots.  One example was she had sealions within 10 yards of her but they insisted on following her so she could never get the shot behind her.  lol.

Beautiful photos--thanks for sharing. Ressurrection  Bay is such a wonderful place it doesn't really matter if the fishing isn't stellar. It's still awesome.

And it looks like it finally quit snowing up there.....cool
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Looks like you two had a wonderful day out.  It sure felt like summer -- quite a change from last weekend.  We took our Lab out for some boat training -- it was her first saltwater excursion.  We put her in the back of the i12 with our friend; figured it was wise to keep her from trying to fetch any sticks she found on the water.  Good day, but I'm not ready to tempt her with fish yet.

Thanks Mark!

Akfishergal, that's awesome!!! It'd be great if you could get her in and out without tipping!

Seriously amazing pics.

That shot of the kayak on the beach is epic!

Awesome pics. I just joined NWKA--it's great to have found this forum. Seems like so much focus in AK--that I've found--is about the Kenai and other rivers...and trout. Too crowded, too many people for me! And you don't get to eat your catch.

Anyway, I was down in Seward in March. Big snow and no fish for me. Stayed in Thumb Cove for two nights. I haven't gotten back down since, but I think July 4 weekend will be the next trip.

Man...we probably look about the same on the water. Same boat, same pfd, same fish finder, and rod holders....

Anyway--loved the pics. Hope to share some myself someday here.
