Took my PA12 out off the Shilshole marina for the first time this morning. Went out about 1.5 miles into the Sound, hunting Pinks. I got skunked, of course. I am total noob at this, coming from a long life of Bass fishing. I wonder if I need to get a fish finder to really know where the bait fish and salmon are. I just trolled around where the other boats were. They didn't seem to be catching anything either, so I didn't feel too bad. Lots of looks and "hey! What is that thing?" :) If anyone wants to hit the water sometime let me know.

By the way, the "boat" did great. I have a hard time calling this thing a "yak" since it is nothing like my revo was, but for fishing it's a dream. Tons of room, and the seat is so comfortable all I am missing is a beer and the tv. :)

I'm a big fan of the PA. Get a fish finder.  It will help and gives you something to play with when the fish aren't biting.  Give it time.  The fish are coming.  Congrats on your maiden voyage.

I love my PA12, definitely get a sonar, I went with new Lowrance Elite-7 HDI, fantastic resolution...and way easy to install in the PA12...roger
