I've noticed that my yellow Outback has some staining in the cockpit where my feet are, as well as on the inside walls, mostly where the surface is rough.  I have tried to use a few different cleaners and scrub brushes, but the dirt stains remain.

I haven't noticed the same staining on my Dune colored Outback.

Does anyone else have this issue, and what will work to clean these stains?  I take really good care of all of my gear, so this is a real pet peeve of mine.

Thanks.

Have you tried a pressure washer?  It could also be oil stains from parking lots or something, and that isn't likely to ever come out.

If you haven't already given it a shot try a simple mixture of Water, Dawn detergent, and Bleach. Let it set for a bit. Try to let it dry in the sun. Other ideas: Simple Green, Comet household cleaner, Acid Magic (skin friendly muriatic acid- get it at your local hardware store), or Armor-All tire cleaner. Just make sure to read the directions, but they are all stored in plastic bottles! I have the same issue with my Papaya Oasis, this is the route I'm going to taken when I wash it. I like the pressure washer idea, but I've run into problems in the past with other pressure washer applications...so I'm going to tone it down this time.

Soft Scrub with bleach has worked pretty well for me on both plastic and fiberglass boats.  Apply liberally, let stand for a bit, and apply elbow grease with a rag or scrub sponge.
"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."

Had 2 years of mud and blood on my 2 Pro Angler 14's, and read an article about vinegar and baking soda.  Was completely amazed with the results.  Don't have to worry about doing it in the yard either as it is just natural stuff.  Can also use with magic eraser I'm sure.   Was very impressive and cost effective.

I had the same problem on my blue Revo 13.  Turns out my shoes were "marking sole" type which were leaving black streaks all over.  So I switched to another brand and I made sure they were"Non-marking soles" .   My problem stopped.

I just realized that the soles of my wading boots are contributing to my stains as well.

I had the same problem with my yellow Ocean Kayak; it seems to show dirt really easily. I still get the red Hobie just as dirty but it doesn't show as easily.

As far as stains, beware of ProCure and other scents!!! I don't know if it's just the red Hobie color or what, but that stuff has left indelible stains on my red kayaks. It seems to actually change the color of the plastic.

I'll have to give the Magic Eraser a try. I noticed that my Hobie still has salmon blood stains from last year...
