I picked one of these up over the winter but haven't had a chance to use it yet.  How usefull are these on the bigger lings?  Seems like they might be able to take it right out of your hand.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

Leash 'em off and let them take it out of your hand if need be.  That's what I do.   ;)

Pole's got it. Leash it. Then, no pussy footin' pardner. If they're bigguns, lip 'em and pull them into the footwell in one motion, then go Pulp Fiction on them w/ the "bitch be cool" stick and the rest is history!! :violent1:

Fishin-T,

No worries.  The only reason I knew that is that Allen mentioned that gaffs use was pretty limited in Washington after I had posted about how great I thought my custom gaff was.  Anyway, I got confused and looked up the WA and OR regs on gaffs. I have to say, being allowed to gaff lings makes things a lot easier.
