It's a beautiful set up, how do you get your gear out when youhave your downrigger on?
BETTER TO HAVE A BROKEN BONE, THAN A BROKEN SPIRIT.

I launched at around 6am and trolled till about noon. I caught 4 fish but they were all Muskies?? I was trolling pink hoochies anywhere from 45-70 feet deep and for some reason had no bites from trout or kokanee? Oh well, still had a blast.

Lookin' good! Are those side handle straps standard on the 2013s?

Thats the only drawback. When I have my gear in the water I can't really access the hatch. I have to pull my gear up first.

It's awesome! I had to modify it a bit to hold the downrigger though. I installed hinges to the lid in order to support the weight. Normally the lid is just held down with some light bungee.

Does the downrigger affect the tracking of your kayak when the ball is deployed?  If so, you could reduce that effect by rotating the downrigger arm about 45 degrees forward so the cable is next to the side of your kayak.  That would also make it easier for you to see the tip of your rod, easier for you to grab the ball, and somewhat easier for you to pull the pole out of its holder when you get a bite.

PMMPETE, I did not notice tracking issues. However the weather conditions when I was out were Wind 5mph and on a lake with little current. I also had a 4# weight. It may be a different story on big rivers though. You have stronger currents, wind, and possibly a larger weight.
