I found out today why The Johnson Group which includes Old Town, Ocean and Necky kayaks has such a dedicated following in the Northwest.

My recent purchase of the Old Town Predator 13 had a somewhat minor problem that escaped repair at the factory and needed corrected under warranty by Old Town. To my surprise Old Town is replacing the entire boat. Jon the Customer Service representative is a real gentleman, believes in customer satisfaction and has great communication and follow-up skills. He was a pleasure to deal with.

The Predator series is a few weeks behind in production so it looks like I may be without kayak for a little while as they make a boat for me. I’m not certain if the replacement will be a 2014 or a 2015; either way I’m ecstatic. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

I’ve read on reviews of other kayak companies where a new owner E-mails and calls and never get a response.  I’m please to say my experience with Old Town Kayaks has been just the opposite.

Ask me what brand of kayak to buy and I’m with the rest of you folks. Buy any kayak you want as long as it comes from the Johnson Group!

‘Twas a good day t’day

Whoops, I see you've already made your decision. Congratulations, and I hope your back loves your Predator as much as you do.
