So my intent is to catch a king before i die. Now the question is since the samish river is extreme combat fishing does anyone know if and where I can launch the yak? To avoid the crowd. I have never been to the samish so I dont really know where to go or even when to go, looking for a little help here thank you.

Heh, well..It's not really kayak-able.  It's only about 20 feet across.  I think you'd find yourself under a barrage of sinkers if you tried!  Best bet is to be a bankie like everyone else.  I know there's WDFW access but I am not sure where.

If you want to kayak it you can fish samish bay north of fish point (it's closed south of that).  There's a channel there that runs into the river and the kings run right up it (you can see it on google maps).  You don't see many boats out there because it's a little hard to fish because there's alot of eelgrass around.  But I've heard it can be productive.

You can try to put your yak in at the old hwy 99 bridge and head up stream. But same thing with the slinky gauntlet until you get up into the private property areas. I'm going to try the bay myself this coming week. I'll let you know how it goes!
