Just a heads-up.

I have a '09 Revo and while I was pulling up the rudder in order to beach, the counter sunk screw that holds the forward rudder pulley came through the hull. The result was a lapfull of rudder cable and a need to get in the water to raise the rudder before I landed.

Hobie has been informed of this failure and a notice will most likely be sent; probably with the hardware to fix the problem. In the meantime, replace that screw with a flathead and a washer because it's not something that can be fixed while on the water.

Can't say I've heard of that happening before but glad everything's all good.

It's probably an isolated incident where the person who countersunk the hull for the screw went too deep and the screwhead went through.
My fear is the flathead and washer used to repair the problem will at some point be a fishing line problem. I'll look for a screw head that has a little more surface area or use a thin nylon or plastic washer under the original screw.
