My name is Terry. I just got a Ocean Kayak Trident 13. Been out about 3 time now, Silver Lake and the Skykomish/Snohomish rivers. Caught 3 pinks on the rivers Sunday before stabbing myself. Reminds me I need to invest in a first aid kit before I go out again. Anyway just wanted to say hi and any advice will be appreciated.

How in the name of the goddess did you manage to stick yourself?

Just beached, Knife in hand and when yak leaned knife went into leg. At least that is what I think happened. Did not feel a thing. Was only when I went to clean fish I wonder where all the blood was from because I had not started clean the fish.

Welcome Terry, newb here too. Where did you fish on the Sky/Snoho? I do a lot of bank fishing there, but haven't had the kayak out there.

I have done the Monroe to Snohomish, High Bridge to Snohomish and have launched many times at the Lowell Launch and fished the lower river.

What's the flow/current like on those stretches? Is it calm enough to put in/take out from the same launch?

I've got a 14ft wilderness systems tarpon SOT, and usually go solo. Although i'd love to get out with other folks - i recently moved here from Chicago, and it's be great to meet some local Seattle-metro kayak anglers.
