5 of us hopped on an Island Packers boat and spent 3 days on Santa Cruz Island camping and fishing. Super low buck adventure, highly recommend it. The boat, kayak transport and camp sites came out to $100 per person. Fishing was slow but we found plenty to feast on.

That's pretty interesting. Thanks for putting together the video and posting it. What is the little furry critter there's a couple of pictures of?

Awesome pics - thanks for sharing. Looks like you all had a ton of fun with great weather.
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

Those are endemic Santa Cruz Island Fox, kind of like the bears at Yosemite  ;D, we had fox boxes for food and trash.

What are the water temps down there? And, what are the names of the rockfish species in the videos? Looks very pleasant- warmer than Oregon.

We had 63-64 degree water, the fish seen are calico bass and blue rockfish. We spent a lot of time shallow looking for halibut, por nada.

There are no bison on SCI, I think only Catalina........I have seen those. Used to be wild pigs and sheep, but now I think the fox rules the island, although we saw a funky tiger striped skunk too.
