I saw these in the Kokatat booklet, kind of expensive $122. Anyone tried them? I hope to get  a semi dry ,separate top and pants  set up and need something lightweight for booties. I thought with the gaiter in warmer weather could get into Hobie without getting jeans wet.

I have a pair.  They work well at keeping your feet warm.  The one issue I have with them is that they are really hard to get on and off.  Top "top curve" in the boot doesn't leave much room.  That being said, that design also means they fit better once they are actually on.

I have been wearing the Kokatat Nomads for a couple years now. They are very comfortable. I am a leg dangler in my Trident and my feet never get cold. I wear size 11 but wear 13's in the Nomads with 2 pair of socks plus the socks built into my drysuit and is perfect. That being said they do hug the calf pretty tight, and makes getting them on and off a bit of a process like Allen said. I wish the gaitor was a little bigger, but I have fat calfs anyway. If I had to do it over again I would probably go with a size 14 to help with that. If I wear a second (thicker) layers under the dry suit like a fleece pants along with polypro or etc. it's a real PITA.

I wouldn't call them a dry boot though. I do get a little bit of water in them from around the top elastic drawstring of the gator (right below my knee) if I have been dangling my legs in the water. Conversely, I think they should work for what you are wanting to do with them, as long as you keep any pin holes that may develop sealed up, but thats the beauty of Kokatats!

Hope that helps...
Erik

Do the soles of the Nomads leave black marks on the kayak?   My NRS Sasquatch wet shoes leave nasty black marks that are a pain to remove.

Thanks.....I currently use Kokatat launch socks and then a pair of Mion water shoes.....the Nomads look to be a better solution.

Now that you mention it, the calves are snug on me too.

I'm a fan of them, but I've noticed my pair of about 4 years is starting to leak ever so slightly.
